Medical equipment at home requires reliable power without exception. CPAP and BiPAP machines, oxygen concentrators, nebulizers, and medication refrigeration cannot simply stop working when the grid goes down. For medical backup, the power system must be tested before an emergency, sized with margin, and kept charged and ready at all times.

Different medical devices have very different power needs. A CPAP machine uses 30 to 60 watts depending on settings and humidifier use. A portable oxygen concentrator uses 100 to 200 watts. A home oxygen concentrator can use 300 to 600 watts—a much heavier load. Insulin and other medications requiring refrigeration need continuous cold storage, which the EcoFlow GLACIER can provide independently.

Practical note: A CPAP without humidifier uses about 30Wh per hour of sleep, or roughly 250Wh per night. With humidifier, budget 50 to 60Wh per hour, or roughly 500Wh per night. A portable oxygen concentrator at 2 LPM uses roughly 100W, or 800Wh per 8-hour night. Always test your specific equipment with the power station before relying on it in an emergency.
