Three people are outside studying with pens, paper, a book, a computer and a portable solar power station.

Education

Outdoor classrooms, field trips, and STEM education programs need portable power for projectors, laptops, microscopes, robotics equipment, and charging stations. Renewable energy itself is often part of the curriculum—solar panels and power stations are hands-on teaching tools that demonstrate real-world physics and engineering concepts.

Educational settings have unique requirements: equipment needs to be durable enough for student use, simple enough for teachers to operate without technical training, and flexible enough to support different activities. A single power station might run a projector for an outdoor presentation one day and charge 30 tablets the next.

Practical note: A classroom projector uses 200 to 350 watts. A Chromebook or tablet charger uses 30 to 60 watts. Charging a cart of 30 devices at once would need 900 to 1800 watts of output—more than small power stations can deliver. For bulk charging, use a larger unit or stagger the charging across smaller groups. For multi-day camps or outdoor programs, pair your station with portable solar panels to recharge between uses.

Tip: Because they’re portable and easy to operate, staff and students can use them without special training. Just plug in, power on, and keep learning.

Recommended bundles: Three Levels of Setup

Level 1: Field Trips and Small Groups

For charging student devices, running a small speaker, and powering science equipment in the field.

Power stations: EcoFlow RIVER 3 or RIVER 3 Plus. Portable enough for students to carry.

Solar demonstration: EcoFlow 45W Panel shows solar charging in action at a student-accessible scale.

Level 2: Outdoor Classroom

For outdoor presentations with a projector, full-day field science programs, and robotics competitions.

Power stations: EcoFlow DELTA 3 or DELTA 3 Plus. Runs a projector for 3 to 4 hours while supporting other equipment.

Solar: EcoFlow 110W or 160W Panel for visible, hands-on renewable energy education.

Level 3: STEM Labs and Maker Spaces

For 3D printers, laser cutters, full robotics setups, and other high-demand educational equipment.

Power stations: EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max or DELTA Pro. High output handles power-hungry maker equipment.

Renewable energy curriculum: Pair multiple panels with a power station for a complete solar energy demonstration system students can monitor via the EcoFlow app.

Expansion: Add an Extra Battery to increase your capacity. The DELTA Pro supports up to 25kWh of total storage with multiple batteries.
