Digital Nomads

Remote work requires reliable power for laptops, external monitors, phones, hotspots, and camera equipment. The difference between digital nomads and casual travelers is that work can't wait—a dead battery means missed deadlines. The best setup depends on how you travel: backpacking light, working from a vehicle, or setting up temporary bases in rental properties.

Laptops are the primary load for most digital nomads, typically using 50 to 80 watts while working. A MacBook Pro charges at about 60W; a gaming laptop or workstation can pull 100W or more. External monitors add 30 to 60W. The math is straightforward: multiply your total draw by your working hours to get daily needs, then add margin for devices, hotspots, and charging overnight.

Practical note: A laptop running 8 hours at 60W uses about 500Wh per day. With phone charging, a hotspot, and some margin, budget 600 to 800Wh for a full workday. A 250Wh power station covers a standard laptop for about 4 hours; a 1000Wh unit covers 12+ hours of laptop use with room to spare.

Tip: They also let you recharge between takes using portable solar panels, extending your shooting day without carrying dozens of spare batteries.
